Kier living awarded HBS New Energies the contract to supply all solar PV requirements at Kingsmoor Park, Woking. The mixed-tenure development of 371 new eco-friendly homes will boast 428kWp of solar power, delivering a sustainable energy source for homeowners.
In 2014, Kier Living awarded a prestigious contract to HBS New Energies to design and install solar PV systems on all 371 new homes at their Kingsmoor Park development in Woking. The inclusion of solar PV proved to be the most cost effective method to meet Code for Sustainable Homes and reduce carbon emissions.
- HBS New Energies are managing the design and installation of solar PV systems at Kingsmoor Park to ensure all new homes meet level 4 of CfSH. Our install teams are responsible for all roofing, installation, electrical connection and system commissioning.
- To meet our client’s planning requirements whilst providing the most cost-effective solution to ensure a seamless and aesthetic finish for each house type we specified an in-roof solar tile system. For all apartment block roofs we have specified on-roof solar modules.
- Since the project started over 4 years ago, our installer teams have supported the site management team in the efficient delivery through each phase. We have remained flexible on site and completed all works in line with the client’s strict build programme.
- Due for completion in the Spring, this large-scale development of eco-friendly homes will boast 428 kWp of solar power. This will yield a projected 342,000 kWh in zero carbon electricity and 214,000 kg in carbon savings per year. Finally, the inclusion of integrated solar PV into each new homes will provide the much needed energy savings for homeowners.
