HBS Group Southern secure trio of new contracts with Taylor Wimpey

Taylor Wimpey, one of the UK’s largest housebuilders has selected building services specialist HBS Group Southern as their preferred mechanical and renewable energy partner to support a trio of new residential schemes across the South.

The developers Southern Counties office has recently awarded HBS’s Mechanical and New Energies divisions contracts to design, supply, install and commission a full range of plumbing, heating and solar PV services to support a new major development of 169 new homes being constructed at the former Sandyfields Nurseries sites in Colden Common, Winchester.

Kings Gate, as it will be known, will feature 2, 3, and 4 bedroom houses and apartments, and will include 40% affordable housing for social rent and shared ownership. These new energy efficient homes will be centered around a large area of public open space which will provide a key focal point for the local community.

The integration of renewable technologies will help ensure the residential developments meet its planning conditions and achieve its targeted reduction in C02.

Integrated services under one roof

Lead by dedicated contracts managers, HBS’s specialist mechanical and renewable energy divisions are due to start works on site from mid-July and will be supporting Taylor Wimpey’s site management in the delivery of a fast-paced build programme, one that aims to deliver the first plots for release in September 2018.

James Bull, HBS New Energies Managing Director said:

‘‘HBS has been a trusted mechanical and renewable energy partner to Taylor Wimpey for more than a decade, successfully supporting a large volume of their residential developments. Being a flagship project for Taylor Wimpey Southern there was a great deal of competition for the contracts. We are proud to have been awarded the scheme, a testament to our impressive track record and specialist industry expertise.’’

HBS New Energies continue to grow their order book

In addition to Kings Gate, HBS New Energies has recently been awarded contracts to design, supply and install solar PV systems for a further two residential schemes from Taylor Wimpey’s Southern Counties and West London offices. Our dedicated project teams will be managing all aspects of the project’s solar PV requirements, this includes all roofing, electrical connection and system commissioning and handover.

The number of recent Taylor Wimpey developments with solar panels installed by HBS New Energies is now up to 13, which equates to over 600 kWp of zero carbon electricity, offsetting the housebuilders carbon footprint by over 200 tonnes per year.

This continuing success further demonstrate HBS New Energies impressive track record as a trusted renewable energy partner to Taylor Wimpey and a leading solar PV expert to the UK’s largest housebuilders.
