HBS further builds solar capacity with the acquisition of Riomay Ltd
HBS successfully acquired Riomay’s solar design and installation activities to further build on our own success in the solar sector. Riomay’s business will be integrated into the New Energies division of HBS Group Southern.
Riomay, a solar specialist since 1977, worked predominantly in the construction sector on largely new build, commercial rooftop installations. It had built an impressive customer base and had installed solar throughout the UK but focussed it activities in the South East.
The rationale for the acquisition was to further build HBS’s solar capability, particularly using Riomay’s track record and expertise in commercial roof top and ground mount installations to complement HBS extensive activity in the house building sector.
‘We are very excited about the Riomay acquisition’ says James Bull, Director and head of HBS New Energies Division ‘At HBS we have always reinvested in infrastructure to build our business and the acquisition of Riomay is the most recent example of this. We are committed to renewable energy and are now building the critical mass necessary to offer all house builders and commercial
contractors not only a leading quality of service, but also the best PV prices possible’
