HBS partner with Taylor Wimpey to deliver solar PV, battery storage & EV charging at Dukes Quarter, Bordon
We are pleased to announce that Taylor Wimpey has appointed HBS New Energies to design, supply and install an integrated solar PV and battery storage solution for 77 properties at the next phase of Dukes Quarter in Prince Phillip Park, Bordon.
The NHBC Pride in the Job award-winning development, located on the former Prince Phillip Barracks in Whitehill & Bordon is one of the largest regeneration projects in the UK and will provide a sustainable community of 2,400 new homes.
Of the 190 units at phase 2 Dukes Quarter, 77 dwellings will each feature a 2.1 or 2.4 kWp solar PV array connected to a hybrid inverter and a 4.5kWh battery storage system.
Our in-house design team has engineered a cost-effective solar and battery storage solution that maximises energy efficiency. This is to allow more of the daytime zero-carbon electricity generated by the PV panels to be used within the home during the evening instead of being exported to the grid.
Mike Freeman, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Taylor Wimpey South West Thames said: “We’re proud to have HBS on board to deliver the solar, battery and EV charging requirements at phase two of Bordon. They have been proficient in providing expert design, technical support and consistently high-quality PV installations for several years. I can always count on them to ensure our developments achieve their sustainability targets within budget. We look forward to a close working relationship with HBS to provide all of our solar PV and EV charge points, taking advantage of the company’s expert technical advice and support.”
James Bull, Managing Director, HBS New Energies commented:
“The scale of this residential solar and battery storage scheme is set to be the largest in the housebuilding industry and we are proud to be the trusted partner to deliver it for Taylor Wimpey. Combining the three technologies at Dukes Quarter will showcase our expertise in new energies integration, and help Taylor Wimpey to develop low-carbon, smart energy-efficient homes that are fit for the future.”
Alongside the integration of photovoltaics (PV) and battery storage technology. HBS New Energies will be providing the schemes EV charging point requirements where specified meaning new homes at Dukes Quarter can be future-proofed and ready for when residents buy an electric vehicle.
HBS Group Southern has been the plumbing, heating and solar PV contractor of choice for Taylor Wimpey’s Dukes Quarter development since it commenced in 2018. With 172 new homes at phase 1 approaching practical completion, HBS is proud to now be delivering the plumbing, heating, solar, battery storage and EV charging package for phase 2 and ensure the project achieves its sustainability requirements to the highest standards.
