Work has begun on installing solar PV arrays to over 200 of Crawley Council’s social housing properties
This week the new energies division start work on an exciting solar PV social housing project, in conjunction with Crawley Borough Council, Your Energy Sussex and Carillion Energy.
Our teams of expert installers will be installing solar PV arrays to over 200 social housing properties to help improve the energy efficiency of the council’s residential housing stock. Solar PV is one of the most effective and reliable renewable technologies available to target fuel poverty in the public sector
The solar PV systems installed will generate clean electricity for use during daytime hours. This will ensure social tenants will make significant savings on their annual energy bill as well as be able to withstand future energy price rises for the next 20 years and beyond. We will be rolling out the solar PV installations over the coming weeks and the energy saving project is due to finish by January 2016.
Councillor Stephen Joyce, Cabinet member for Housing, said:
“This is great news on two levels and I’m really pleased we’re able to support our tenants in this way.”
