HBS Apprenticeship Recruitment 2022- Now open

HBS Group Southern has been providing industry-leading training through its Apprenticeship Scheme for over 50 years and this year we are looking forward to welcoming new recruits onto the programme. There will be exciting apprentice opportunities available in both plumbing and heating and electrical disciplines.

Working in partnership with a regional network of college partners, our apprenticeships give young people from across Hampshire an excellent opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career within the construction sector.

Apprenticeships help us build, adapt and future-proof our operations

A 4-year HBS Apprenticeship combines on-the-job training, work experience on new build residential projects and college-based study. Apprentices work towards achieving an NVQ Level 3 in their chosen area of study.

Throughout the programme, as one of our apprentices, you will have a dedicated supervisor who will oversee your development during your training and study with HBS. They ensure you are progressing on the right track towards achieving your qualification and enjoying the experience at the same time.

Many apprentices remain with HBS Group Southern once they have completed their training, with 63% of our current mechanical and electrical workforce having completed their apprenticeship with HBS.

A day in the life of an HBS Apprentice

We have nearly 30 apprentices currently being trained in plumbing and heating, electrical and renewable energy services. Alongside college study, they are learning their trade working onsite at some exciting housing developments for national and regional housing developers across the South.

To understand more about life as an apprentice at HBS, go check out our HBS Apprentice Spotlight Series. You can hear from Toby, Kane, Ollie and Jack who share their apprenticeship experience and how they are helping the business adapt and build for the future.
