HBS Group Southern trusted to deliver the mechanical and electrical services for 147 homes at Barratt Homes Saxon Corner, an NHBC Pride in the Job ‘Seal of Excellence’ award-winning site in Emsworth, Hampshire.
In November 2019, Barratt David Wilson Homes (Southampton) appointed HBS Group Southern to provide the M&E services package for their new Saxon Corner housing development in Emsworth, Hampshire.
It is the latest residential housing project awarded to HBS by the 5 Star housebuilder in the last year. It follows successful building services contract awards for Quarter Jack Park and Canford Paddock in Dorset and Madgwick Park in Chichester to name a few.
This award-winning site in Emsworth offers a brand-new selection of 2-bedroom apartments and 2, 3 and 4-bedroom houses, all built to a high-quality and energy-efficient standard. Consisting of 147 new homes in total, Saxon corner will provide a 30% allocation for affordable housing managed by Sage Housing.

Following NHBC CQR reports undertaken in 2020, the 1st fix, 2nd fix and final installations for our plumbing and heating services scored a double level 6 ‘Outstanding’. While our electrical services installations scored a double 5 ‘Very Good’. HBS’ commitment to consistently producing industry-leading M&E services alongside all other trades helped Barratt Homes Saxon Corner lead by Phil Cripps win an NHBC Pride in the Job ‘Seal of Excellence’ Award in 2020.
Summary of new build M&E services
- HBS Mechanical and HBS Electrical are currently managing all aspects of supply, installation, testing, commissioning of the project’s gas, heating, water and electrical system requirements for the 147 new homes at Saxon Corner.
- The internal and external electrical services being undertaken by HBS’ experienced new build electricians include energy-efficient LED lighting, 18th edition consumer units, general small power, smoke detection, MEV, TV+BT and external lighting.
- The mechanical services undertaken by HBS’ highly skilled plumbing and heating engineers include domestic hot and cold water and central heating, soil and wastewater systems, sanitaryware and rainwater goods.
- A dedicated in-house M&E project team are completing 1st fix, 2nd fix and final installations in adherence with HBSGS in-house quality process to ensure compliance with regulations and the client’s quality and production targets. These staged installations are regularly inspected by our Quality Control Manager.
Upon completion, HBS Aftercare will provide a 24-hour 365-day after-sales service to the residents at Saxon Corner for two years.
