HBS New Energies completes the installation of 221 new build solar PV systems at Latitude, a major residential housing scheme by Bellway Homes (Wessex).

In 2017, Bellway Homes (Wessex) appointed HBS New Energies as its specialist new build solar PV contractor to install solar PV systems for 261 energy-efficient homes at their Latitude housing development in Southampton, Hampshire.

Working closely with the housebulider’s Wessex office, our in-house team engineered a 228 kWp new build solar scheme to ensure Bellway Homes Latitude phase 1 and 2 met its sustainability targets within budget. The cost-effective design solution included roof-integrated PV systems for the houses and flat roof ballasted PV systems for the apartment blocks.

Now complete, the new sustainable community at Latitude offers a selection of 1 and 2-bedroom apartments and 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom houses. Tenure types include both private and affordable housing units.

Alongside the New Energies division, HBS Mechanical supplied the plumbing and heating system requirements for 189 private and affordable dwellings at phase 1 of Latitude.
