HBS New Energies completes 152 solar PV installations at Taylor Wimpey Kingfisher Grange. The inclusion of solar panels ensures the housing scheme meets its local carbon reduction targets.
In 2017, Taylor Wimpey appointed HBS New Energies to deliver a new build solar PV installation service to help ensure Kingfisher Grange met its energy targets. The housing development of 152 new homes features 2,3,4 and bedroom 5-bedroom homes, all designed and built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.
Summary of new build solar PV services
- HBS New Energies managed the design, supply and installation of 152 on-roof solar PV systems. As part of the contracted works, our dedicated solar install teams completed the roofing, electrical connection and system commissioning.
- To ensure system performance satisfied planning requirements, our design team value engineered an on-roof PV solution to fit the smaller roof size for all house types and blocks of flats.
-
Each PV array includes the Clenergy PV-ezRack® Mounting System with the compact and highly efficient Perlight Delta 250w 54 cell black modules. Combined, this provided a cost-effective package for the client whilst achieving an aesthetic finish for each new home.
- Taylor Wimpey Kingfisher Grange’s 105.25 kWp solar PV scheme will yield a projected 84,200 kWh from renewable energy sources and deliver carbon emission savings of 42,100 kg per year.
- The inclusion of solar PV panels on each new home will provide an added benefit for the end-user, with homeowners able to enjoy lower energy costs long into the future thanks to solar energy.
